The Federal Inflation Reduction Act continues to provide significant investment tax credits of up to 50% for battery installations. To qualify for the solar tax credit, systems must
be operational by June 7, 2026. Since MISO can take up
to four years to grant interconnection for front-of-the-meter systems, those not already in line face a higher risk of losing
the ITC.  It is possible to go behind the meter and make the deadline but the window is closing.  
While ITC opportunities are dwindling, business sectors are adjusting to a temporary loss of the tax credit, aided by a notable decrease in solar panel costs and rising power prices, which keep well designed systems competitive and profitable.
